The week's events

It has been a busy week at Coláiste Pobail Acla as we come towards the end of the academic year. On Tuesday afternoon we had our Awards' ceremony. In these, we gave recognition to our students who have excelled throughout this school year. Our awards are presented on the basis of a student’s academic achievements, sporting endeavours and overall contribution to our local community. Congratulations to all of this year’s winners. (listed below). We hope this sets these students on the path to further success. Our House Exams began on Wednesday morning and continue through until next week. Best of luck to all students as they showcase what they have learned this year. Wednesday evening saw our Leaving Certs have their graduation night in the presence of their parents, guardians, family, friends and their teachers. The students reflected on their 6 years in CPA and recalled the memorable times that have helped shape them as young adults. We wish them all good luck as they move on to the next chapter of their lives. Earlier this week Leona Ginty, Edel O’ Malley and Eva Harris presented a very generous cheque for €520 to Mrs. Veronica Carey of St. Fionnaun’s Nursing Home. The money was raised by carrying out two fundraising events throughout their Transition Year - Christmas Goodie Bag Sale and an Easter Egg Raffle. The students hope the money raised will be of some benefit to the residents. Absent from photo Luke Moran
