Today, the second-year students of Coláiste Pobail Acla had the exciting opportunity to visit the Mayo campus of Atlantic Technological University (ATU).

This educational trip provided them with a first-hand experience of what it is like to be a university student, offering valuable insights into courses, careers, and campus life.

The students had the privilege of meeting with several lecturers who shared in-depth information about courses in IT and cybersecurity, as well as nursing. The students gained a better understanding of these fields, including potential career paths and the skills required to excel in them.

A highlight of the day was engaging in teamwork activities with Outdoor Education students, giving our students a taste of the social and extracurricular life at university.

Well done to 1st Year student Briain Daly, who competed in the Mayo indoor track and field event in Athlone over the weekend. Briain won gold in the 800m and silver in the long jump.
