Our students had a fantastic day at the North Connacht Track and Field events in ATU Sligo last Thursday.

Students represented the school across a great range of events, from the 100m sprint to the 3000m, as well as shot put, long jump, and the exciting 4 X 100m relays. Every student gave it their all and represented the school brilliantly.

The team spirit and support shown throughout the day was brilliant to see, with students cheering each other on in every event. That camaraderie and encouragement is what school sport is all about.

A huge well done to our three students who have qualified for the Connacht Finals next month:

James Roche - 1st in his heat and 4th overall in the Intermediate Boys 200m

Briain Daly - 5th overall in the Intermediate Boys 3000m

Thea Thormaehlen - 2nd overall in the Intermediate Girls Long Jump

Thea has had an amazing few weeks competing in athletics. She recently claimed gold in the All Ireland under 18 triple jump. Well done Thea!

Well done to our 5th year Construction Studies group who visited Energy Build in Sligo and completed an excellent NZEB (Nearly Zero Energy Building) & Retrofitting workshop in their new training centre.

Our Transition Year students had an excellent day in Spiddal County Galway this week. They took part in a range of engaging workshops including creative writing, filmmaking, puppetry and acting. They visited the set of Ros na Rún and got a taste of life behind the cameras. This trip was organised in conjunction with the ‘Gaelíomána’ project. We are very grateful to MSLETB and Údarás na Gaeltachta for providing this opportunity for our students.
