Our Transition year students recently visited the Achill RNLI lifeboat station in Kildownet. During the visit, they learned about the importance of water safety, explored the equipment used in rescues, and gained insight into the vital work carried out by the lifeboat crew.

The students also had the opportunity to learn about volunteering, fundraising, and the wide range of roles available within the service. It was an engaging and educational experience that highlighted the dedication and commitment required to keep our coastal community safe.

We would like to sincerely thank Orla, Dave, Michael and Francis for their knowledge, and warm welcome. Their work is invaluable, especially in a community like ours that is surrounded by the sea.



Bhí lá den scoth ag scoláirí na hidirbhliana le déanaí nuair a thug siad cuairt ar an stáisiún bhád tharrthála Acla i gCill Damhnait. Le linn na cuairte, d’fhoghlaim na scoláirí faoi thábhacht sábháilteacht uisce, rinne siad iniúchadh ar an trealamh a úsáidtear i dtarrthálacha, agus fuair siad léargas ar an obair thábhachtach a dhéanann an fhoireann.

Bhí deis ag na scoláirí foghlaim faoi dheiseanna deonacha, bailiúchán airgid, agus na róil éagsúla atá ar fáil sa tseirbhís. Ba thaithí spreagúil agus oideachasúil í.

Our TY students were busy this morning running our Build a Bank initiative in partnership with Bank of Ireland! 💼🏦

They did a brilliant job helping students get set up with their bank accounts—great to see such teamwork and leadership in action 👏✨
