Students and staff from Coláiste Pobail Acla attended the launch of the TY RSA Road Safety Programme yesterday, Thursday, 12th September, at Marian College, Dublin.
The event was officiated by Minister for Education, Norma Foley, who introduced the programme.
This new 10-week programme, developed by the Road Safety Authority (RSA), will be offered to Transition Year students in over 100 secondary schools.
The curriculum aims to address rising concerns about the number of deaths and serious injuries among young people in recent years.
The programme includes topics such as an overview of road safety, learning to drive, car components, the impact of speed, alcohol and drug use, distractions, safety belts, and vulnerable road users. Students will also undergo an assessment as part of the course.
Coláiste Pobail Acla is proud to have had our students invited to attend this important event.
Pictured with our students and staff members at the event are Norma Foley, Minister for Education, Tom O'Grady, Chief Executive MSLETB, Mary Madden, Director of Schools for MSLETB and Caroline McHale, who developed the Program.
As this academic year gets up and running in earnest we would like to extend our heartfelt congratulations to the Class of 2024 on their outstanding Leaving Certificate results.
Your hard work and dedication have paid off, and we are immensely proud of each and every one of you.
These results reflect not only your individual commitment but also the support of your teachers, families, and peers throughout your journey at Coláiste Pobail Acla.
Whether you are moving on to university, further education, or entering the workforce, we wish you the very best in your future endeavours. Remember, you will always be a part of the Coláiste Pobail Acla family.
