Our second year pupils recently took part in a wonderful collaborative book project with local illustrator Maeve Clancy. The students showed great creativity and teamwork while creating their book on local trailblazer Nancy Corrigan.
Some of our students proudly attended the JCSP Make a Book Exhibition where they displayed their book for other schools and gave a short presentation about their work through the medium of Irish and English. To celebrate their efforts, the school held a special celebration where the pupils received certificates in recognition of their hard work and participation. We are very proud of them all! We would like to thank local book illustrator Maeve Clancy for all her guidance and assistance with the project.

Ghlac daltaí ón dara bliain páirt i dtionscadal leabhair le maisitheoir áitiúil Maeve Clancy le déanaí. Léirigh na páistí cruthaitheacht agus obair foirne agus iad ag cruthú a leabhar, “Nancy Corrigan,” Tá an leabhar bunaithe ar bhean inspioráideach áitiúil a chuaigh ar imirce go Meiriceá agus a cáilíodh mar phiolóta sna 1930idí.
D’fhreastail cuid de na scoláirí ar an JCSP Make a Book Exhibition áit ar thaispeáin siad a leabhar do scoileanna eile. Thug siad cur i láthair do gach duine ar an bpróiséas agus ar shaol Nancy Corrigan trí Ghaeilge agus trí Bhéarla. Bronnadh teastais ar na scoláirí an tseachtain seo caite nuair a bhí ceiliúradh beag againn sa scoil. Tá muid thar a bheith bródúil as ár scoláirí iontacha. Ba mhaith linn buíochas a ghabháil le Maeve Clancy as an gcuidiú agus a treoir le linn an phróiséis seo.

Thanks to Garda Shane Nallen, Westport Garda Station, who talked to our Junior students today about the laws and dangers around alcohol, drugs and the use of vapes.

Well done to our TY students on last nights amazing performance of their musical 'Jump into the 80s'.

We are getting ready to go again tonight!!

Doors for the final performance in Colaiste Acla, Dooega, are at 6.30pm this evening, with the show at 7pm sharp.

The last remaining tickets are available from the school office and Achill Sound post office for €10.
